Acting as one of the main thoroughfares into the centre of Madrid, the Castellana area - complete with the Paseo de la Castellana - is a busy cross section of the city's centre, with much of the architecture and street layout dating back to the 18th century. There are a number of beautiful sights to behold in the district, most noticeably a high proportion of statues, monuments and pretty plazas juxtaposed with impressive modern architecture and a great array of bars, shops and clubs.
Attractive, accessible, vibrant and chock-full with plenty to see and do, the Castellana district of Madrid is a great place to stay if you are hoping to experience everything this eclectic city has to offer. Some of the city's most important sights and monuments can be found nearby, including the Plaza Colon - which boasts a statue of Christopher Columbus - and the Kio Towers; two futuristic and striking buildings that straddle the road and appear to lean into one another.
A number of superb hotels can be found located in and around the Castellana district, ranging from well-priced standard accommodation to luxurious five-star hotels offering every comfort, facility and service you could ever need.
